Cathyryne is a Senior Program Officer for LSDF and has experience in grant program coordination/management, biomedical research, and science communication for technical and lay audiences. She has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Diego, and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis. Prior to joining LSDF, Cathyryne was a Program Coordinator with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), in support of the U.S. Department of Defense's Office of Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), a biomedical research funding organization. She coordinated programmatic and technical aspects of the CDMRP's Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) in conjunction with military, government, and contract personnel. She also co-developed CDMRP communications materials. Before working with the PCRP, she coordinated the CDMRP's Neurofibromatosis Research Program and Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program. Cathyryne has over 10 years of experience in writing and editing for professional and advocacy organizations.
