The Life Sciences Discovery Fund supports health-related scientific research, collaborative public-private partnerships, and the commercialization of scientific discovery. In doing so, it contributes to the growing competitiveness of Washington, it helps accelerate scientific innovation, and it plays a key role in improving health-care quality cost effectiveness.

In all these aspects of its grant making programs, LSDF is carrying out an important part of the broad public agenda of Governor Gregoire and the Washington State Legislature. The scope of this public agenda can be seen in the comprehensive life sciences strategy introduced at the Governor's Life Science Summit on September 25, 2006. To review a copy of the strategy report, read The Future of Life Sciences in Washington.
