LSDF 08-02: Innovative Programs to Advance Health Research
This funding opportunity will distribute approximately $18-20 million in grants for new strategic initiatives designed to accelerate the development of answers to important health questions and to make life sciences inquiry more productive. There is no fixed cap on award amount or grant duration.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be Washington non-profit.organizations, singly or in collaboration either with other nonprofits or with for-profit companies.
- Deadlines (all by electronic submission): Letters of intent are due by March 26, 2008; proposals are due by June 4, 2008.
- Expert Review and Evaluation: Proposals will be reviewed by panels of experts convened by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Proposals will be evaluated according to scientific, technical, and.organizational merit, benefits to health and health care, and future economic outcomes. All award proposals will be expected to contribute to the achievement of LSDF's primary strategic goals - promoting life sciences competitiveness, improving health and health care for Washington's citizens, and fostering economic growth.
- Selection: The LSDF Board of Trustees will make the final selection of grantees. Awards will be announced in early December, 2008.
